One standard everywhere
The same KPIs, definitions and thresholds apply to every Portco. Comparison is the point.
Approach
Pegovio is a Portfolio IT governance practice for private equity Sponsors. We combine a fixed scoring model, a platform that applies it, and people who have sat on both sides of the Sponsor and Portco relationship.
How it works
The Sponsor adopts one set of KPIs for the whole Portfolio. Each KPI has a code, a plain definition, the evidence that supports it and the thresholds that set its band.
Portcos join in Waves. Each management team is walked through the standard, names an accountable owner per KPI and submits its first evidence.
Pulse computes each KPI score and the composite from the evidence submitted. The method is fixed, so a score means the same thing in every Portco and every cycle.
Composites of 86 and above are Green, 53.5 to 86 Yellow, and below 53.5 Red. A dominance cap holds the composite down when one critical KPI is weak, so a strong average cannot mask a serious gap.
The Sponsor view and board summary lead with exceptions. When a theme needs a closer look across the Portfolio, a Probe examines it in every Portco on the same terms.
Principles
The same KPIs, definitions and thresholds apply to every Portco. Comparison is the point.
Scores come from submitted evidence, not self-rating, and are not re-argued each cycle.
Portco commentary is published verbatim beside the score. Context travels with the number.
Every view opens on what needs action. Headline numbers come second.
Reports read like a fund report: precise figures, plain language, no theatre.
The standard belongs to the Sponsor, so results hold up in front of the board and in diligence.
The team
The Pegovio team brings experience running technology inside sponsor-backed businesses and advising Sponsors on technology risk across a Portfolio. We built the model we wanted to have when we were the ones answering to the board.
We work with a small number of Sponsors at a time, so each Portfolio gets direct attention from the people who designed the standard.
